Laura Whitley, Head of Global Commercial Banking, Bank of America Merrill Lynch
Laura Whitley is the Head of Global Commercial Banking for Bank of America Merrill Lynch. In this role, she leads a team who delivers integrated banking and investment banking solutions to commercial clients across the country and internationally. Whitley has more than 25 years of financial advisory experience with corporate, institutional and high net worth clients, holding key leadership positions in Global Corporate and Investment Banking and Global Wealth and Investment Management.
Whitley began her career with Bank of America as a management trainee in 1983. She spent the first decade of her career advising global companies in Europe, Asia, and Canada on capital raising, corporate finance and mergers & acquisitions. As Managing Director for Banc of America Securities, she directed the firm's corporate and investment banking activities with multinational clients. Whitley served as president of the Private Bank Central Region for 5 years then as Commercial Banking executive for the Central Region leading the delivery of Bank of America capabilities to high net worth clients, middle market companies and institutions in that region. Prior to her current role, she served as president of Business Banking and Global Commercial Products executive.
Whitley earned a bachelor's degree in Finance from Texas Tech University in 1983. She is a NASD Registered Principal with Series 7, 24, 63 and 66 securities licenses.
Whitley serves on the board of the AT&T Performing Arts Center, the Texas Tech University Advisory Board, and is a member of the Banc of America Merchant Services, LLC Management Committee. She is founding chairwoman of the 2008 United Way of Dallas, Women of Tocqueville and a recipient of the 2007 Best of Six Sigma award. Laura has been featured on CNBC, recognized as one of the 25 "Most Influential Business Women," included in the "Top 40 under 40," and "Who's Who in Banking & Finance."
