When one of the nation's leading competitive energy providers approached Bank of America Merrill Lynch to help expand its clean energy portfolio, we helped them create one of the world's largest solar photovoltaic projects. The up to $1.4 billion project is expected to light up approximately 75,000 average homes and displace carbon emissions equivalent to 30,000 cars annually.

CleanStar Mozambique

Low income households in sub-Saharan Africa now have a clean, safe alternative to charcoal cooking fuel. Bank of America Merrill Lynch is helping to finance an integrated food, energy and forest protection business through a multimillion dollar carbon-financing agreement. The agreement supports a network of retail shops and sales agents that distribute clean cookstoves and bottled liquid cooking fuel.

Project SolarStrong

The largest residential solar power project in U.S. history is also a source of jobs for veterans and military families. With help from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, more than 120,000 military residences will have rooftop solar panels, which will require a workforce to install, operate and maintain. The effort will generate approximately 300 megawatts of power and reduce annual carbon dioxide emissions by more than 200,000 metric tons.

Clean energy, new tax revenues, job creation and local income are fanning across central Illinois as a result of the Pioneer Trail Wind Farm, operated by E.ON Climate & Renewables. Bank of America Merrill Lynch helped finance this clean power generation facility with a $150 million investment that provides more than 150 megawatts of power and supports the local Illinois economy.
